Blue Ridge Jams Apple Butter is made in small batches, with the tastiest local apples, in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Apple butter is a concentrated form of apple sauce created by slowly cooking the apples with cider or water until the sugars in the apples caramelize as the puree cooks, giving the apple butter its rich, sweet flavor and dark color. However, in contrast to what the name implies, there is no butter in apple butter.  Apple butter has a hint of warm cinnamon spice, but mostly it just tastes like great flavored apples. Apple butter is delicious on toast, in oatmeal, on pancakes and waffles, with cheese, and as a substitute for applesauce.  

Our Blue Ridge Jams Apple Butter is shipped in a clear 10-ounce glass jar. Therefore, each jar is individually packaged to ensure safe delivery to you.

Our small family-owned business, founded in 1961 as the Sugar Shack and now doing business as Blue Ridge Jams, specializes in jams, jellies, preserves. We also carry a wide variety of gourmet jellies and jams, including fruit jellies with peppers, wine, brandy, and rum.
