Made by the Dutch Waffle Company which originated in the Netherlands and came to the US in 2019 by a former Dutch exchange student studying in Indiana in 1988. One of her host families encouraged her to bring the delicious treats to America and after much delay due to visas and other paperwork issues, Bianca and Patrick were able to open The Dutch Waffle Company.

A stroopwafel (literally "syrup waffle") is a wafer cookie made from two thin layers of baked dough joined by a caramel filling.

A stroopwafel is placed over a hot drink such as coffee, tea, or hot cocoa, to warm the cookie up and soften the syrup and make the caramel inside a bit gooey. Of course, they are delicious at room temperature as well.
